I thought about you today. In fact I think about you everyday. A song on the radio sparks a memory, or when I find a baseball cap in the house. I volunteered to clean out some closets at Shannon's school. I found several boxes of poker chips. The janitor was going to throw them out. "No!" I yelled, I will give them to my nephew, he will love them." Then I cried. He didn't understand why. I saw a picture of your headstone, just a picture. You see I cannot bring myself to go to the cemetery. That makes it too real. You see I am still hoping that my doorbell will ring and when I open it, you will be standing there, tall and handsome, sparkling eyes, shit eating grin, arms open. It's a nice thought. It helps me to cope. I will not write again, its just too hard, but know that I think of you everyday. I know you are watching over Kaylah, your nieces and nephews, and cousins. You should see Marisa, she is going to be eighteen her next birthday. She is tall and skinny, long blond hair, blue eyes, she is gorgeous. She takes after me ha ha!!!!!! I wish you were here to help me protect her from the boys. You'd do a great job, and Kaylah what a beautiful young girl. I know you are smiling and proud! You know I don't drink, but when I get to heaven, a long time from now, we will share a beer and as they say "shoot the breeze" until then.....my friend.
